An extraordinary exhibition started yesterday at the Wade Thompson Drill Hall at the Park Avenue Armony in New York. "Infinite Variety: Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts," which was organized by the American Folk Art Museum, will present 650 red and white quilts. The way they display the quilts is very unususal, in spiral form like a tornado in a very large hall. These two-color quilts have very strong impact but most of the designs are pretty simple. I wish they bring this show to California so that I can see them in person... These quilts are collection of Joanna S. Rose and she is going to donate 50 of them to the museum when the exhibition ends. Amazing!!! I want to have one! Okay, okay, I should design my own red and white quilt and make it if I want it so much!These quilts immediately reminded me about Japan. As you know, Japanese flag is red circle in white background. It represents rising sun. I was taught that Japan is the country where the sun rises because it is located far east. This is why Japan has the power to come back up no matter what happens. I'm hoping that the victims of the earthquake and tsunami don't forget the hope and courage. I want them to know that people from many countries are trying to help them.

I have been so impressed with the way the Japanese people have handled themselves in the horrible situation they find themselves in. i can only pray things get better soon. The quilt exhibit is stunning from the looks of it. I wish I could see it also.
